To tie in with my passion for the ocean, I was fortunate enough to train as a submersible pilot in one of the most spectacular places in the world, Cocos Island  in Costa Rica. Being part of  projects lead by Sylvia Earle, National Geographic, Pharmamar and others, was a dream come true.

 

Below is an account of some of the things I was involved in, please contact me if I can make a contribution to your project as a scientist or submersible pilot.

  • Live-aboard diving operator to Cocos Island, Costa Rica and Malpelo Island, Colombia.

  • Submarine Pilot (SeaMagine custom-built one-atmosphere submarine, capable of carrying a pilot and two passengers to a depth of 1,500 feet (457 meters).

  • Director of daily submarine operation and checks.

  • Surface controller.

  • Support diver.

  • Submarine service and inventory duties.

  • Deck Hand and Mariner.

  • Manager of Marine Science Operations.​​

  • Projects: 

    • Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Pristine Seas National Geographic Expedition (Identify, survey, protect, and restore the last truly wild places in the ocean).

    • Revillagigedo Archipelago, Mexico (Scientific researches, documentary, commercial).

    • Cocos Island, Costa Rica. Pharmamar (Bio pharmaceutical company focused on oncology and committed to research and development which takes inspiration from the sea to discover molecules with antitumor activity).

    • Las Gemelas, Costa Rica. Pharmamar (Bio pharmaceutical company focused on oncology and committed to research and development which takes inspiration from the sea to discover molecules with antitumor activity).

  • Hydraulic arm operator.

  • DeepSee Submersible Cruise Director.
